As many of you will know, last week we were Germany where we were named as the winners of the European Young Artists’ Jazz Award 2011 which we’re all really proud of! The award was held as part of the 42nd Burghausen International Jazz Week, and as part of our prize we had the honour of performing the opening concert of the festival, playing before Chick Corea and Gary Burton in a concert that was recorded for German national TV and radio.
We all had an amazing time when we were over there – thanks to everybody we met for being so lovely, and thanks to Burghausen for being such a beautiful place and of course for the always excellent weissbier… And thanks again to the Musicians’ Benevolent Fund for their generous Ensembles and Groups award so we could fly over to Germany in the first place. Full tour diary with lots of pictures coming soon, keep an eye out!
